Bichon Frise

Post Graduate (3, 1 Abs)

Much to like about both these young males including the quality of their coat and presentation:

1st M Moss, Quissmar Lightning Chaser for Mamose, just over a year old and maturing nicely. Head of correct proportions and in balance with body, nothing over exaggerated with ears correctly set and hanging close to head. Beautiful dark, round eyes with black eye rims and dark haloes, giving his all with delightful alert expression. He carried his head proudly on well arched neck of good length, he moved effortlessly, better in front than behind. BOB

2nd M Rudd, Deizi My Cupids Bow, another handsome, well balanced male with good head properties and pleasing round, dark eyes, complete with dark haloes. At just 10 months and full of mischief – some more ringcraft would give him an edge as he moves out with driving strength from behind – however assessing his front movement was difficult due to his desire to keep his head down. Chihuahua (Long Coat)

Special Yearling (2, 1 Abs)

1st D Gilling, Chantico Black Diamond of Talocan (IKC) Attractive feminine bitch with a well rounded apple dome, pleasing dark eye and alert expression. Large ears set at the correct angle. She had a good level topline with the desired sickle tail set high and carried up and over. Small and dainty feet and desired brisk and forceful movement. BOB

Post Graduate (4, 2 Abs)

1st D Gilling, Chantico Black Diamond of Talocan – see Special Yearling

2nd D Gilling, Rubyanlo Cleopatra of Talocan, shaded fawn with pretty, feminine head. Apple dome to skull with large round eyes and well set ears. Not as settled in topline on the move as her kennel mate. She moved better in front but lacked strength in her hindquarters. RBOB

Post Graduate (3)

Three delightful youngsters, I was spoiled for choice and I am sure they will change places on many occasions. Critiquing the first two I loved the square shape and balance of both these babies, with delightful tails, high set with gentle curve over back and wagging with enthusiasm. For me the sister just had the edge to take

1st J W Finlay-Kirkwood, Gilderoak Paparazzi, in quality even deep red coat of good texture. Rounded head, moderately wide with relatively short muzzle and good turn up. Mischievous expression from her dark, round eyes. Slight arch to neck, well laid shoulders and balanced at rear. The best mover when she settled, just thoroughly enjoying her day out. RBOB & BP

2nd JW Finlay-Kirkwood, Gilderoak Abracadabra, similar attributes as his sister in an all male head. Chest wide, level topline and good spring to rib. Will surely drop into himself as he matures. Not quite as tidy on the ground moving as his sister but a sound mover.

3rd R & J Potts, Adreeam Classic Rough

Open (1)

1st G & J Finlay-Kirkwood and G Murray, Grajenco Red Valentino, a family stamp here as father of my 1st and 2nd in the previous class and an equally busy boy that doesn’t see the need to settle on the move! However very sound and driving from the rear. Moderate neck with proud head carriage, level topline and square in shape. Masculine rounded head with expressive dark round eyes. Rich shaded red smooth in beautiful coat and condition. BOB

1st and 2nd siblings of 8 months and taking the class was the bitch:

1st D A & Z A Richardson, Hollinsclose Wild Rose. I liked the head properties of this feminine bitch puppy – lovely round, dark eyes and intense expression; correct ratio for skull and muzzle, broad and almost flat between the ears and carried proudly on well arched neck of good length. Standing both on the table and the ground she cuts a well balanced shape. On the move she drives forward, just swinging a little in front. RBOB.

2nd J Sanderson, Hollinsclose Especially for Danack, strong, masculine head properties with dark eyes of correct shape and good pigment. Similar body shape to his sister and lost out to her on his front movement as he danced towards me with excitement!

Open (2, 1 Abs)

1st D A & Z A Richardson, Arfenco’s Warrior King Ivar for Hollinsclose (Imp Nor). Handsome 10 month male who has a great profile shape. Strongly built and ripped for muscle. Short in body with level topline, deep in chest with good width between straight front. Attractive broad head carried proudly on his arched neck. Eyes of correct shape could be a shade darker. Graceful driving movement. BOB & BP

Veteran (5, 2 Abs)

1st R & M Bennett, Ch. Witchstone Place Your Bets at Capledrae JW ShCEx, ETT, eyecatching handsome male 8 years young, a nice shape and well balanced all through, in gleaming black & tan coat. Head long and narrow tapered wedge shape with fill under eyes. Erect candle flame shape ears. Graceful neck leading into well laid back shoulders with correct topline. Correct front and rear assembly, he moved positively with good front extension.

2nd C Nichol, Chantismere Finnegan, Cavalier KCS, a handsome Blenheim boy of 7 years with a generous head with plenty of fill under the darkest of eye. A very sweet expression. Beautiful ears to frame complete the head piece. Adequate neck, well placed shoulders and still solid topline, he moved soundly with good reach and drive.

3rd D Gilling, Chantico’s Mercedes of Talocan JW

Puppy (15, 12 Abs)

1st J C Moore, Lasagesse One Vision, ETT of 7 months, attractive head with long, narrow wedge shape and flat top skull. Small almond shaped eyes intently alert and correct candle flame shaped ears. Elegant arched neck, lightly made boy who needs a little more depth to chest. He moved soundly extending in front and powering from behind when settled.

2nd J & W Urwin, Aneeva Holly Berry, rich solid red Min Pinscher of 6 months in a delightful small package. She has a lovely outline, well balanced, compact and elegant. Quite broad in head with finer muzzle, very dark eyes and pigment, with the most pleasing small erect ears. Graceful neck that fitted into sloping shoulders, good topline sloping to well muscled rear. Good hackney gait on the move.

3rd K J Bacon, Timbric Paloma Faith

Open (2,1 Abs)

1st K Kynaston, Granasil Ovaltine JW, Cavalier KCS sporting a beautiful rich, bright Ruby jacket that had all the fire colours. A little strong in stop for me but he has beautiful large dark eyes and the gentlest of expression. He is well made with excellent depth of chest, spring of rib and level topline. A sound mover, a very happy showman just a little proud of his tail at times.

Special Beginners (3, 1 Abs)

1st M & P Hood, Alsidewood Imitation, Cavalier KCS, B/T boy of 9 months that cuts a super shape albeit in a large mould. A very sound mover, well muscled and positively driving from behind keeping his top line with tail a perfect continuation of spine, wagging with great enthusiasm. He has the gentlest of heads with dark eye and plenty of fill.

2nd M Rudd, Deizi My Cupid’s Bow – see Bichon Post Graduate
