Manchu Shih Tzu Society

I would like to thank the officers and committee of the Manchu shih tzu club for asking me to step in and judge their autumn open show when their original judge was unable to attend due to car difficulties.

It is never easy for exhibitors to accept a replacement judge, especially after they have arrived at the show. Fortunately, most accepted the change, with only five dogs withdrawn from competition. Taking on another judge’s entry is also challenging to the judge and maybe we should remember that ring side, but, as the saying goes, the show must go on.

I thoroughly enjoyed my morning judging with some wonderful dogs to go over. I was very pleased with my main winners who all possessed what I was looking for. My steward Hazel Chadwick kept everything moving at a good pace and I thank her for this.

Baby puppy.

I have always found this a hard class as for most of the exhibits it would be their first real taste of a show and the atmosphere that comes with that, Saying that the two youngsters I had today coped well with being gone over and being stacked although movement was a little hit and miss today but i’m sure that will change with experience.
