Judge Mr T Casentieri

Firstly I’d like to thank the society for the invitation to judge at their show and to award my first Utility group. Secondly I’d like to thank all the exhibitors who entered their dogs and who took my decisions in a very sporting manner. And last but not least my steward for the day who kept things running in an efficient manner.

Swedish Vallhund

Open (2/0)

1st Barnes & King’s Ch Starvon Fame Awaits For Izlou JW, a lovely 4 year old bitch who attracted the eye with her lovely free movement as she entered the ring. She has a typical outline with good proportions throughout. Nice feminine head with correct bite, good eye and ear placement. Well made front construction aiding that free movement. Good top line which she holds well on the move. Nicely set and carried tail. Tidy feet. Shown in excellent coat and condition. Well handled. BOB

2nd McArdle’s Starvon Get The Drinks In For Monascreebe, 2 year old male who was definitely all male. Again another well constructed exhibit from the same breeder as the winner but in a masculine style. He has an attractive head and expression, lovely outline on the stack with good angles and proportions throughout. Shown in excellent coat and condition, just needs to tighten in front as can move a little wide. RBOB

Miniature Schnauzer

Junior (2/0)

1st Carver’s Oldbashurst Time Will Tell, what a find this young male is! As soon as he entered the ring I couldn’t help but watch his effortless and precise movement as he entered the ring while keeping his beautiful outline at all times. Just 9 months old and already a stunning example. Great proportions in body and head, lovely strong jaw, good eye and ear, arched neck leads to an excellent shoulder and well made front. Well bodied and muscled, good for rib, and depth to chest. Straight back leads to well made rear which he uses to his advantage. Well set tail. Shown in good condition and coat. Super mover, so sound. BOB, BPIB Was pleased to award him Adult and Puppy Group 1 and pleased to see him gain RBIS and BPIS! Congratulations to his owner/breeder.

2nd Mills’ Wellingley Won Down South To Pippiash, a very raw 6 month old girl, very much still a baby but showing plenty of promise. She has a sweet expression and a cheeky attitude. She has a typical outline with good proportions. Nice and feminine in head but still has enough strength to her muzzle. Well made front and rear with good angles, enough body for her age. Shown in good coat and condition, she wasn’t too sure on the flooring today but the movement seen was sufficient. Hopefully with more training she will come on nicely.

Open (1/0)

1st Saunders, Parker & McDonald’s Risepark Style Setter. At nearly 2 years old this stylish bitch did stand out a lot to me. Lovely to go over with a nice feminine but well balanced head, well made front and rear and well covered body. Lovely angles fore and aft which show in her balanced movement. Correct tail set and carriage. Groomed to perfection and well handled. Moved well but in the challenge for BOB she was unlucky to come up against her opponent today. RBOB

AVNSC Utility

Puppy (2/1)

1st Parker-Stokes, Afterglow Gilbert Grape, 10 month old black Toy Poodle, a nice youngster of good type and style, attractive in head with good eye. Nice ear placement, well made throughout with a good top line and nice angles fore and aft. Good tail set, unfortunately he didn’t want to use it on the move in this class but did use it in later classes. I’m sure with age he will mature nicely and grow in confidence. BAVNSCP

Junior (4/2)

1st Wright’s Black Matrix Di Poggio Petroio To Sealandair (Imp Ita), having judged this dog previously he’s really come on and matured nicely. Nice for size, attractive head with correct expression. Good eye and ear placement. Lovely length of neck leading to well made front. Well angled. Moves well when he puts his mind to it and keeps his outline in profile beautifully. Shown in excellent coat and condition, handled well to BAVNSC, was a strong contender in the group.

2nd Parker-Stokes, Afterglow Gilbert Grape, see 1st in AVNSC Puppy

Post Graduate (6/3)

1st Wright’s Black Matrix Di Poggio Petroio To Sealandair (Imp Ita), see 1st in AVNSC Junior

2nd Walker’s Raeannes Black Velvet JW, 2 year old male Miniature Poodle, a lot to like in this young male. Nice type with balanced angles throughout, nice masculine head with good chiselling, shown in excellent coat and well presented. Good tail set and carriage, nice tidy feet. He moved well from all angles. But for me he could be the tiniest bit more compact to complete the picture. RBAVNSC

Open (5/2)

1st Hall’s Balgay Shab Tra, 6 year old Tibetan spaniel of nice shape and type. Nicely proportioned male. Masculine in head but still an attractive expression. Good eye and ear placement. Nicely put together when going over him with typical angles for and aft. A steady mover with sufficient reach and drive. Presented in good coat and condition.

2nd Parker-Stokes, Afterglow Gilbert Grape, see 1st in AVNSC Puppy

AV Imported Breed Register Utility

Junior (3/1)

1st Cunningham’s Yulyeong Special Edition, lovely Korean Jindo youngster with a lovely temperament, nice and steady on the move. Love her head proportions, nice eye and ears. Well put together front construction. Nicely developed body for a youngster. Good proportions throughout. Balanced rear. Moved well throughout. Shown in good coat and condition.

2nd Allen & Wells’ Yulyeong Higher Love, another nice Korean Jindo youngster, nice temperament, looks love,y on the stack, perhaps not as well angled as the class winner, but still a nice outline. Nice masculine head with good proportions. Nice construction through out but on the move he seemed to lose fluidness at the rear.

Post Graduate (4/1)

1st Cunningham’s Yulyeong Special Edition, see 1st in junior

2nd Balode, Emerson & Chambers’ Everybody Princes De La Roses At Tamoanchan (Imp Deu), 2 year old male Xoloitzcuintle (Int), Masculine in head with good proportions, would like like a less rounded ear, mouth ok, good reach of neck, good balanced angulation fore and aft, nice neat feet, good tail set and carried well on the move. Moved well but did prefer the movement of the winner today.

Lovely overall outline with good angles fore and aft, well made front. Nice level top line with well set tail. Shown in lovely coat. Well presented, perhaps carrying a little too much weight but didn’t show in her movement.

2nd Barnes & King’s Ch Izlou Shiver Me Timbers, lovely German Spitz (Mittel), all male and it shows in his attitude. Certainly doesn’t show his age. Nice head with good proportions, nice eye and ear, well constructed, good tail set and carriage, nice feet, shown in good coat and condition. A little too exuberant on the move.
