Wealdstone & Northolt Premier Open Show 19th July 2026

Thank you to the Wealdstone & Northolt committee for the invitation to judge, and to my steward, Emma, whose calm efficiency and patience were invaluable throughout the day. There were some unavoidable delays at the front gate due to traffic congestion, and I appreciate the committee’s efforts in coordinating the flow and keeping the show running smoothly. Once underway, the two show format proved a great success, giving exhibitors the benefit of completing two events in one day without additional travel. All exhibits were professionally groomed and handled, with good bites and full dentition; no poor mouths or dentition issues were noted. It was a very busy and long day, but everyone worked with good sportsmanship and went home with well earned results.

1st Lampen & Wilson’s Kismet’s Top Tier Diva is Rosco – 7-month-old compact white female. Feminine profile with a balanced and typical head. Small triangular ears, correctly set and carried. Dark, oval eyes obliquely placed, black eye rim, giving a soft, intelligent expression. Shows good shoulder development and appropriate chest width for age. Level back on the move, retaining her outline. Moderate angulation fore and aft. Hocks well let down and muscle development appropriate for her age. Began perky and brisk in her gait but was momentarily spooked by the grass, continuing with encouragement from her sympathetic handler. Presented in excellent coat condition. A promising puppy with a beautifully defined head who, on the stack, shows the square outline of the breed. BPIB.

1st Trendle & Hill’s Fecimus We’re On the Ball – 2 year old solid black male of good height and masculine profile. Medium wedge head with good ear set and well defined dark oval eyes. Muzzle of good strength, equal to skull. Clean, moderate neck into well developed forequarters. Straight, well boned legs with good muscle. Well ribbed. Level back with high set tail carried correctly. Moderate hindquarters with good hocks. Structurally sound, though overwhelmed by coat volume and length, which alters his outline; the excess adds to the flank and sits low, giving a short legged impression. Beneath the coat he is a good mover, clean and brisk coming and going. Promising square male, smart and handsome on the stack and on the move, and should present a clearer outline as his coat matures.

Tight race between the two beautiful high quality males of rather different style. 

1st Chambers’ Ch Musique Born Legacy – 8 year old solid white male who enters the ring with commanding show presence. Compact body balanced by a beautiful head. Wedge head with moderately flat skull, defined stop, small triangular ears, and dark oval eyes moderately set; cheeks tapering neatly to a moderate muzzle and dark nose. Clean neck leads into good return of shoulder. Excellent forechest, straight forelegs of good bone and well feathered. Well ribbed with tuck, level back and short loin. High set profuse tail curled over the back. Well developed hindquarters with strong, well let down hocks. In excellent coat condition; topcoat long, harsh and profuse around neck and shoulder without overwhelming his outline. Brisk, lively gait, attuned to his handler. Stylish, pleasing mover with nothing excessive about him. BOB. Utility Veteran Group 3

2nd Grayer’s Ch Radajasas Henri Fiocca At Delgray – 6 year old solid white larger male. Wedge head with a rather broad skull. Small triangular ears and well defined dark oval eyes. Muzzle equal to skull with a dark nose. Moderate neck, moderate chest, good shoulder placement, straight forelegs and good bone. Good ribbing with moderate tuck. Level back, loin a touch long, high set tail carried correctly. Rear legs with well let down hocks. Clean mover, straight going out and coming in. Top coat long and harsh, rich in volume. Well defined head and a good mover. RBOB.

1st Barnes & King’s Ch Kitsune The Lioness At Izlou – 4 year old black female of good bone and firmness. Feminine, wedge head with moderately broad forehead; small, well furred triangular ears set high and erect. Dark oval eyes, oblique and set moderately wide apart. Muzzle of good strength with strong jaws and a black nose; intelligent, alert expression. Moderately long neck blending into a short, level back. Forequarters well developed; shoulders moderately placed; forelegs straight with good bone and a gentle slope to the pasterns. Chest moderate with good ribbing and moderate tuck up. Tail high set and curled over the back, forming a correct silhouette. Hindquarters well developed with well toned thighs; rear legs parallel with well let down hocks. Small, round feet. Harsh topcoat with full undercoat, presented in excellent condition. Brisk gait, level back on the move, firm and balanced. BOB. 

2nd Barnes & King’s Izlou Gossip Girl JW - 4 year old cream female with a feminine profile, balanced wedge head and slightly long body. Triangular ears correctly set; dark almond eyes obliquely placed, giving a gentle expression. Dark nose, strong jaws and tight black lips complete a clean feminine head. Moderate neck leading into moderate shoulders. Moderate chest and width, well ribbed with moderate tuck up. Forelegs straight with good bone, standing parallel. Level back with slightly long loin. Profuse tail, high set and curled correctly. Good hindquarters with well toned thigh; hocks well let down. Straight harsh topcoat, well furred ears and short smooth hair on the head. Moderate angulation front and rear. Moves out and comes in on a clean, straight line. Preferred her feminine head and softer curve, but winner more compact. RBOB.

1st Cunningham’s Jaytor Expecto Patronus – 10 month old well boned white male of square, beautifully balanced outline. Clean, chiselled foreface with dark almond eyes and intelligent expression. Strong jaws. Neck of good length. Forequarters still developing but already showing evident prosternum and a well laid shoulder. Chest depth appropriate for age with well sprung ribs. Short, firm back. Hindquarters sound with good stifle and hock placement; muscle still firming. Stylish mover with coordinated action and good drive. Exciting career ahead. BPIB. BOB

2nd Sims’ Meadowfair’s Law Breaker – 10 month old brown male of adequate bone. Proportionate head with typical expression. Moderate neck into a short, slightly sloping back. Chest deep with well sprung ribs. Front action limited in reach with some lift; improved shoulder placement and a touch more leg length would enhance outline and extension. Hindquarters moderate with good turn of stifle; rear movement stronger than front. Still maturing in all departments. Promising youngster.

1st Mann & Harvey’s Charabecca Levi’s Luckiest – 12 month old black male of masculine profile and square outline. Proportionate head with dark almond eyes and typical expression. Strong jaws. Neck of good length. Forequarters well-constructed for age with well laid shoulder, evident prosternum and good bone. Chest deep with well sprung ribs; back short and firm; loin short and broad. Hindquarters sound with good stifle and well let down hocks. Curl coat of correct texture, well-trimmed to enhance outline. Light, free mover with good drive. Impressive youngster with more to come. 1st Walker’s Raeannes Black Velvet JW – 2 year old black male with a proportionate, masculine typical head with correct eye definition and ears carried correctly completing intelligent expression. Clean neck leads into well placed shoulders. Forequarters developed with a deep, well ribbed chest. Short loin. Hindquarters showing good thighs and muscle definition, good turn of stifles and hocks well let down. Balanced angulation. Coat in good condition and well-trimmed. Excellent mover, handled well. He’s the most matured dog today, with many likable qualities. Pushed hard in the challenge.  I prefer the silhouette of the BOB winner who has a bit more edge.

1st Dilworth’s Eikenberry Raphael With Guillero- Upstanding 20 month old black male of large, masculine profile, proportionate head and typical foreface. Correct eye sets, tight lips and strong jaw; cheeks still developing. Well furred, low ears completing a typical expression. Good length of neck, shoulders well placed; straight, parallel forelegs. Good ribbing.  Short loin with a clean croup and high tail set. Hindquarters well developed with broad thighs, strong stifles and low, well let down hocks.  Moderate angulation front and rear. Harsh, well trimmed coat. Promising young male. Moved freely with good reach and rear drive.

1st Kernick’s Hope Dreams Come True – 10 month old upstanding apricot/red female of feminine profile and square outline. Balanced head and body. Pleasing head with a long, clean foreface, dark almond eyes and correctly set ears; muzzle of correct strength with a dark nose. Forequarters show good bone, straight parallel forelegs and an evident forechest. Ribs well sprung for age, tidy tuck up, level back and short, strong loin with a well carried tail. Hindquarters developing well, thighs muscled toning up, with good stifles and hocks well let down, showing no looseness behind. Moves soundly, keeping up well with her handler. Feminine youngster with a pleasing head in proportion to her size. BPIB.

2nd Taite-Shoosmith’s Alisiane Popular – Black 9 month old female of square outline with good leg length proportionate to her age. Fine headpiece with long foreface, small dark almond eyes set well apart, with cheeks under the eyes still filling out, and correctly carried ears. Moderate neck into a well laid shoulder; chest of moderate width with straight, parallel forelegs of good bone and a defined tuck up. Short back with a moderate loin at this stage of development. Hindquarters still developing, showing moderate turn of stifle and low hocks. Coat well trimmed and presented in excellent condition. Well handled, free and fluid on the side gait. A compact youngster of typical head and pleasing outline who pushed hard in the class. Still growing into her head, but the foundation is sound. I preferred the winner’s better defined foreface, muzzle and conditioned body. One to watch as she matures.

Moderate neck into a well placed shoulder; developed forechest, straight forelegs of good bone. Strong round ribcage with tuck up, short back and moderately broad loin. Good tail carriage. Strong hindquarters with defined thighs, low hocks and moderate rear angulation. Well-trimmed and in good coat condition. Elegant female, excellent forequarters and balance, stylish mover with free gait and good drive. RBOB.

Solid round ribcage with tuck up; straight back and moderately broad loin. Tail carried well on the croup. Hindquarters well toned with good angulation. Low cocks well let down. Elegant and masculine on the stack and on the move; front and rear consistent, going out and coming in clean with good foot placement and drive. BOB

Forelegs straight and parallel; chest beginning to drop; ribcage well sprung. Short back and loin. Good croup with correct tail carriage. Parallel rear legs with good angulation and hocks well let down. Feet tight and oval. Moves happily and elegantly going out and coming in clean. Puppy coat of harsh texture, groomed and maintained natural silhouette. Feminine youngster of strength and elegance. BPIB.

Good length of neck leads into well laid shoulders; forequarters developing well, forelegs strong and straight, gently sloped pasterns, tight feet. Ribs well sprung and carried back, giving a clean undercarriage. Short, straight back and strong, moderately broad loin. Tail set high. Hindquarters toned with good angulation, strong hocks well let down. Well trimmed harsh coat in excellent condition. Good reach and drive, stylish with strength, not toyish on the move. BOB. 2nd Parker-Stokes’ Afterglow Gilbert Grape - Stunning 12‑month‑old black junior male of lovely type and presence, square and compact in outline. Shares some stylistic qualities with the class winner. Excellent head‑to‑body proportions; masculine head with dark, expressive almond eyes and a happy expression. Chiselled foreface with strong muzzle, jaw and chin. Neck of good length. Chest still developing with evident prosternum and good width; forelegs strong with good bone, elbows close, ribs well sprung defining the underline. Back straight and short; loin gaining strength. Tail set and carried correctly, completing his compact silhouette. Hindquarters developing, with good thighs, moderate angulation, well‑bent stifles and hocks well let down. Smart, free gait with good front action. Beautiful head and expression. Pushed hard; outmatured by the winner. RBOB.

Oval eyes set apart giving a gentle, intelligent expression. Tapered muzzle of good strength with dark lips; gold markings well placed on the head. Ears set high and hanging close. Neck slightly long but muscled. Forequarters with good bone; shoulders well placed. Deep chest and well sprung ribs carried well back. Topline slopes into a level back; broad, muscled loins; well formed croup with correct tail carriage. Powerful hindquarters with low, well let down hocks. Feet tight. Coat full with good texture and clear gold markings. Good front action; I prefer the winner’s overall balance.

Correct occiput to stop and muzzle proportions. Oval dark eyes with good fill complement a slightly tapering, strong muzzle with parallel planes; jaws strong with tight black lips and dark nose. Gold markings well defined on the head. Forequarters strong with excellent chest development; shoulders well laid; forelegs straight with strong bone. Ribs well sprung and carried back. Level back, muscled loins, gently sloping croup and correct tail carriage. Powerful hindquarters with strong thighs, well let down hocks and parallel rear view. Coat full, correct texture, well marked. Clean, effortless movement with consistent reach and drive. A standout veteran; my highlight of the day. BOB. 

2nd Foakes’ Hightimbers Oaks Of Tutelary – Black & gold 4 year old mature male of good bone and substance. Slightly long in body yet well muscled, maintaining a level back standing and moving. Masculine profile, handsome. Skull moderately broad; ears high set and close. Oval dark eyes with intelligent expression. Strong, deep muzzle, moderately tapered with parallel planes, finishing in a good jaw and tight black lips. Gold above eyes and cheeks well marked. Strong neck; correct shoulders placement; forelegs straight with strong bone, elbows close. Deep chest with good width; well sprung ribs; defined undercarriage. Loin slightly long; a touch more leg length would improve overall outline. Powerful hindquarters; low, well let down hocks. Tight feet. Full coat of correct texture. Good reach and rear thrust on the move.

2nd Simpson’s Razzle Dazzle – 6 month red male with good bone and balanced puppy head: medium stop, correct ears, kind eyes, tapered muzzle. Forechest developing; straight forelegs; well sprung ribs. Back strengthening; slightly long loin and higher rump. Correct croup and tail. Rear developing with moderate angulation; tight feet. Moderate, clean stride; coat well presented. Sound foundation; maturity needed. Prefer winner’s overall development at this stage, level back and rear finish.

Slight dip in back, long loin, gently sloping croup. Hindquarters developing with strength, good stifle turn and hocks well let down; rear well angulated. Tight feet. Moves steadily with efficient gait. Good foundation, at an uneven growth stage and needs time; out conditioned by winners.

Dark almond eyes and proportionate pendant ears set high. Deep, straight muzzle with firm flews completes a pleasing head. Muscular neck into well laid shoulders; excellent forequarters and chest construction with developing depth and ribs Level back; topline excellent standing and moving. Hindquarters still catching up but strong with correct angulation. Feet compact and well arched. Correct coarse coat texture, groomed well and handled excellently. 2nd Mattley’s Teigan Let It Bea – 17 month stalwart, well boned female with head development more advanced than the winner; strong, balanced skull showing a degree of gender amorphism, giving a more neutral, slightly male like impression. Dark eyes, developing cheek and strong muzzle. Muscular neck of good strength; shoulders well placed and forelegs straight. Chest evident with good width; well sprung ribs. Topline slopes slightly from the wither. Hindquarters in good development, hocks well let down. Coat correctly coarse, presented well and moving with strength and coordinated front–rear action. A decent mover with good strides, sound construction and well toned muscle. Beginning to show a more mature stage. Prefer the winner’s more feminine head and silhouette.

1st Franklin, Franklin & Hucker’s Bevanray Carlos JW – 2.5 year male of correct long body proportion, strong and masculine on the stance. Muscle well-toned throughout. Definitive, masculine head with a broad skull proportionate and balanced to body. Eyes dark. Cheek well defined. Ears carried close to head. Deep muzzle and tight flews. Strong muscular neck. Forequarters excellent, chest deep and well ribbed; forelegs straight, parallel, with strong bone and correct pastern angulation. Topline acceptable, still developing strength. Muscled loin and croup, tail carried correctly. Hindquarters strong with good second thighs and well angulated rear legs; hocks well let down. Moves out and back cleanly with purposeful gait, nothing excessive. I like the head of the RBOB; however, this male impresses with overall soundness. BOB. Working Group 4.
