Thank you to the committee for inviting me to judge some of the pastoral breeds at this show, and to the exhibitors for their entries.
Border Collie
Post Graduate – 1st & BPIB - Pencoppen Hot Comet: Very promising young puppy with good type and a lovely expression. Good proportions and developing nicely through shoulder, body, and rear. Sound movement for age with good reach and drive. Still immature, naturally, but a puppy with plenty of promise. Delighted to award Best Puppy.
Open – 1st & BOB - Pencoppen La Parisienne: Excellent breed type and overall balance. Lovely head and expression, good neck and shoulder, strong topline, and good rear construction. Moved particularly well, with excellent reach and drive whilst retaining a good outline. Presented beautifully and showed very well.
2nd & RBOB - Pencoppen My Fair Lady: Litter mate to first so similar comments apply, attractive head and expression and good overall balance. Good topline, body and rear construction and sound, positive movement. Excellent breed character and presentation. Close class.
Rough Collie
Post Graduate – 1st & RBOB - Serenlas Borrowed Heaven A pleasing sort to go over, with good overall breed type and balance. Lovely head and expression, with good proportions and a pleasing ear set. Good neck and shoulder placement leading into a well-constructed body, with a good topline and rear angulation. Good bone and feet. Moved well with good reach and drive, although she was rather proud of her tail. Good coat and presentation, with the correct intelligent and attentive expression.
2nd – Brookynut Happy Feet Attractive with good breed type and pleasing overall proportions. Good head and expression, with a nice neck and shoulder and a good topline. Good body and rear construction, with sound bone and feet. Moved well, showing good reach and drive and maintaining a good profile on the move. Well-presented and handled, with good breed character.
3rd – Roughrigg Revved’N Ready BPIB - A very raw and immature puppy, but one with plenty of promise. Lovely head and expression with good breed character. Good neck and shoulder and pleasing overall proportions for age. Still very much a baby in body and coat, with plenty of development to come. Good bone and feet, with promising rear angulation. Movement is still understandably puppyish and needs time to strengthen and settle, but there is good potential. Well-presented and handled and showed with a lovely attitude. A promising youngster who I look forward to seeing mature.
Open Dog – 1st & BOB Brookynut Clyde Barrow - Full of breed type presented in full dense coat, liked his balance and overall quality. Lovely head and expression, with good proportions and a well-placed neck leading into good shoulders. Excellent topline and body, with good rear angulation and sound bone and feet. Particularly good movement, with reach and drive while maintaining a lovely outline. Beautifully presented and showing excellent breed character.
2nd – Amalie A Chance to Shine - Well-presented with good overall breed type and a pleasing outline. Good head and expression, with a nice neck and good shoulder placement. Good body proportions and topline, with sound rear construction. Good bone and feet and moved soundly with reasonable reach and drive. Good coat and presentation and showed well. A pleasing exhibit with plenty to like.

Post Graduate – 1st - Koczokdan In My Dreams With Queudekae
Open - 1st & BOB – Koczokdan In My Dreams With Queudekae Although standing alone, presented a balanced picture. Acceptable in head and expression, with good proportions, a pleasing neck and shoulder, sound hindquarters, and good bone. Moved with good reach and was handled and shown extremely well.
Bearded Collie
Post Graduate – 1st & BPIB – Megamaree Been Expecting You via Fenacre Very promising puppy displaying good breed type, pleasing length of body, good neck and shoulder placement, a level topline and sound bone. Attractive, well-proportioned head with a bright, enquiring expression. Moved freely and positively for age once settled. Still immature in body and coat and needing time to strengthen and develop but has all the essentials and should mature into a very pleasing adult.
Open – 1st & BOB Ch Orora’s French Silkat Merrimak JW ShCEx OSW - Quality, feminine bitch of excellent breed type, presenting a lean, active, and well-balanced outline with the correct length of body. Strong yet feminine, well-proportioned head with a bright, enquiring expression. Good neck leading into well-laid shoulders, with a level topline, well-sprung ribs, and a strong loin. Soundly constructed throughout and particularly positive in front, which gave her the advantage today. Moved freely with good reach and drive, maintaining her shape on the move. Presented in good coat and condition and showed with confidence.
2nd - Eltmaris Jubilee Hoorah JW - Another very smart exhibit with much to admire. Good breed type and a pleasing, balanced outline, with an attractive, well-proportioned head and a soft, enquiring expression. Good neck, firm level topline, well-developed body, and sound hindquarters. Moved well with useful reach and drive and was beautifully presented and handled. A quality exhibit who pressed the winner but was not quite as positive in front today.
Welsh Corgi (Cardigan)
Post Graduate – 1st & BOB – Analog CC I Like It Like That for Amenbury (Imp Nor) Almost two-year-old dog who is sturdy and well balanced with the desired long, low outline while remaining well clear of the ground. Pleasing foxy head, well-set ears, and a kindly, alert expression. Muscular neck fitting into well-laid shoulders, prominent forechest, deep brisket and well-sprung ribs, with a firm level topline. Strong, well-angulated hindquarters and a well-set fox-brush tail. Moved freely and actively with good reach and drive, keeping a pleasing outline. Well-presented and handled.
2nd & BPIB – Analog CC Tootsie Roll for Amenbury (Imp Nor) A very raw and immature puppy who is still developing but shows promising breed type. Well placed ears that he is still getting use to. Good length of body, useful bone and the makings of a well-shaped front and strong rear. At present needs time to deepen and spring in rib, strengthen through the body and settle in movement, which was understandably puppyish. Presented and handled well and should make a pleasing adult with maturity.
3rd – Chrishama Ice Diamond for Amenbury
Open – 1st & RBOB – Chrishama Magic Apprentice for Amenbury A smart, well-balanced bitch with good breed type and a sturdy, mobile outline. Pleasing foxy head, well-set ears, and a kindly, alert expression. Good neck and shoulder placement, prominent breastbone, deep body, and well-sprung ribs, with a level topline. Strong hindquarters and correct low-set fox-brush tail. Moved with economy around the ring. Well-presented and handled.
2nd – Wildcard Spot Check for Horcrux At 9 years old, this dog is a testament to the breed and still presents a pleasing overall picture, with correct long, low proportions and sound bone. Attractive head with a watchful expression and well-carried ears.
Welsh Corgi (Pembroke)
Open - 1st & BOB – Rhiew Ravens Royal Tower with Balletcor At 9 years old, this quality veteran dog is a credit to the breed, retaining a strong, sturdy, and well-balanced outline with good substance. Pleasing foxy head with well-set ears and an alert, intelligent expression. Fair length of neck, well-laid shoulders, ample bone, and a broad, deep chest with well-sprung ribs. Firm, level topline and strong, well-angulated hindquarters. Moved freely and actively with good forward reach and useful drive, showing excellent fitness for his age. Presented in good coat and condition and handled to advantage.
Shetland Sheepdog
Puppy – 1st BPIB – Amethrickeh’s Illusionist at Santiara Promising puppy showing pleasing breed type and a balanced, graceful outline. Refined, well-proportioned head with a sweet expression, well-placed eye, and neat ears. Good neck and shoulder placement, level topline, and developing body, with sound bone and neat feet. Moved freely for age with useful reach and drive, although naturally still immature and needing time to strengthen and finish. Presented and handled well; delighted to award Best Puppy in Breed.
Post Graduate – 1st & BOB – Philhope By Your Side at Santiara Quality exhibit of excellent breed type, presenting a symmetrical, well-balanced outline free from coarseness. Refined wedge-shaped head, correctly placed eyes and neat, well-carried ears combined to give a lovely, sweet expression. Well-arched neck, well-laid shoulders, deep chest, and well-sprung ribs, with a firm level back and graceful sweep over the loin. Moved with lithe, smooth action, showing good reach and drive while retaining balance. Beautifully presented and handled.
2nd Fernfarm Hummingbird – A very smart Sheltie with much to admire. Pleasing head and sweet expression, with well-placed eyes and neat ears. Good neck and shoulders, balanced body proportions, sound bone, and neat feet. Moved freely and gracefully, maintaining a pleasing outline, and was well presented throughout. Pressed the winner but did not quite have the same overall finish and balance today.

Limit – 1st – Sundark Symphony in Suede Well-balanced exhibit of pleasing breed type, with a graceful, symmetrical outline and no suggestion of coarseness. Attractive refined head, lovely eye and expression and well-carried ears. Good length of neck into well-laid shoulders, deep chest, well-sprung ribs, and a level back. Sound, well-angulated hindquarters and a correctly set tail. Moved smoothly with good reach and drive and was presented in excellent coat and condition.
2nd – Keycharm Cha Cha Cha at Lowenek Another quality exhibit of good breed type, with an attractive head and gentle, intelligent expression. Pleasing neck and shoulder placement, firm topline, well-developed body, and sound rear construction. Moved with light, graceful action and useful drive, showing well throughout. Smartly presented, but the winner had the advantage in overall balance and finish today.
3rd – Sundark Scaramouche
Open - 1st & RBOB – Prince of Sunlight I Got You Babe (Imp Hun) A quality Sheltie with a balanced, elegant outline and much breed character. Refined, well-proportioned head with a sweet expression, correctly placed eyes, and neat ears. Proud head carriage, well-laid shoulders, good depth and spring of rib and a firm level back. Strong, well-shaped hindquarters and a low-set, well-carried tail. Moved freely and smoothly with good reach and drive, maintaining shape on the move. Beautifully presented and handled.
2nd Navy Blue of Most Majestic at Dacfolke (Imp Hun) JW A very smart exhibit with a pleasing symmetrical outline and good breed type. Attractive refined head, lovely eye, and expression and correctly carried ears. Good neck and shoulders, well-bodied with a firm topline and sound hindquarters. Moved gracefully and with purpose, showing good reach and drive, and was presented in excellent condition. A close decision, but the winner had the edge in overall balance today.
3rd Lowenek Coco
Res Sundark Simply a Star VW – Have to note what super older lady she is and challenges some of her younger counterparts, especially on the move.
