Firstly, thank you to the Downlands SBTC for inviting me to judge my first club show for the breed I love! And I’d like to say a big thank to all the exhibitors who had entered under me, presented their dogs and took my decisions sportingly.

Class 1 – Baby Puppy Dog or Bitch (2/1)

1st: Kentstars Good Luck Charm – Rhodes, Miss S

Red male with white chest, of good size and overall balance. Nice head for his age, with pleasing width and expression. Good front and rear angulation, neat feet and showed plenty of promise. A little excitable, but a nice puppy with lots to like; good luck with him.

Class 2 – Veteran Dog (2/0)

1st: Chedanstaff Devil Star ShCEx – Mitchell, Miss V

Black male, in great condition for his age. Well balanced, muscular, active and agile, with a pleasing head, good breadth of skull, good muzzle length, distinct stop and neat rose ears. Good spring of rib, neat feet and correct tail set and carriage. Confident on the move, handled well.

2nd: Montgomery Guard – Wise, Mr D G

Black male, more compact in type, with a very pleasing head, good breadth of skull, pronounced cheek muscles and distinct stop. Good width throughout with well sprung ribs and well-muscled body. Moved steadily and showed good strength for his size.

1st: Dusklight Small Town Boy at Maskalon JW – Gutierrez Gonzalez & Hirst, Mr D & Mr N

Red and white male, presented in fit condition. Well balanced with good strength for his size, clean head with good breadth, tight clean lips and neat muzzle. Pleasing expression with neat rose ears. Good width throughout, level topline and tight, well padded feet. Moved well with purpose and showed himself well.

2nd: Hammystaff Tainted Love – Nolan, Mrs H C

Smaller male with plenty of strength for his size. Very strong head with broad skull, pronounced cheek muscles and neat rose ears. Good front and rear angulation, with a well-muscled body throughout. Level topline, good tail set and carriage and moved well.

3rd: Riennastaff Juggernaut – Jurascheck & Humphries, Mr L & Miss G

Class 6 – Novice Dog (4/2)

1st: Riennastaff Juggernaut – Jurascheck & Humphries, Mr L & Miss G

Black male of good size, presented in fit condition. Strong head with good breadth of skull and a clean expression. Athletic and well balanced, with a clean outline and good strength for his size. Good front and rear angulation, correct tail set and moved well. Keep working with him, as he has plenty to like.

2nd: Bruno Bronco Junior – Trantham, Mrs L & Mr J C

Black male, larger and more substantial than 1st, with good width throughout. Strong head with pronounced cheek muscles, good spring of rib and plenty of bone and substance. Good feet, neat ears and correct tail. A well-muscled dog with lots to work with.

Class 7 – Graduate Dog (1/0)

1st: Keep It Lowkee at Pindbystaf – Blagg & Whitehead, Miss T & Mr I

Red male, top size but balanced throughout and shown in fit condition. Clean head with neat rose ears, good muzzle length, pleasing expression and good strength. Good spring of rib, good feet, level topline, correct tail set and carriage, with good front and rear angulation. A muscular, active dog who showed well.

Class 8 – Post Graduate Dog (0)

Class 10 – Open Dog (2/0)

1st: Hamason Sweet Little Mystry JW – Robinson, Robinson-Cox & Cox, Mr H, Mrs M A, Mrs C L & Mr S C

Brindle and white male, top sized but nicely balanced throughout. Clean head with neat rose ears, dark round eye, good muzzle length and deep skull. Good front width, neat tight feet and good angulation front and rear. Good spring of rib and well muscled. Held a level topline both standing and on the move, with correct tail set and carriage. Best mover on the day for me. Pleased to award him Best Dog and Best in Show.

2nd: Labrastaf Magma at Haidastaff – Norris, Mr A G

Brindle male, smaller than 1st but well balanced throughout. Compact dog with good strength for his size. Strong head with good breadth of skull, distinct stop and strong muzzle. Neat rose ears, good spring of rib, neat feet and correct tail set and carriage. Moved well. Pleased to award him Reserve Best Dog.

1st: Bilrosestaff Sweetie Pie – Rowland, Mrs C

Red, petite female with a very feminine appearance. Clean head with neat rose ears and a pleasing expression. Well balanced for her age, with neat feet, good angulation and a level topline. Correct tail set and carriage, moved well and showed herself nicely. Maturing well with plenty of promise.

Class 14 – Puppy Bitch (1/0)

1st: Wonderstaff Baby’s In Black – Wareham, Mr L & Mrs D

Black, petite feminine bitch with a clean outline and athletic appearance. Clean head with good ears, neat feet and good width throughout. Level topline, good angulation and correct tail set and carriage. Rib developing well for her age, moved well and showed plenty of promise. Good luck with her.

Class 15 – Junior Bitch (4/0)

1st: Idyllicstaff Nangi – Shipp, Mrs L M

Red and white bitch of standard size, nicely balanced throughout. Feminine head with neat rose ears, dark round eye and a pretty expression. Good width, good spring of rib, neat feet and level topline. Good angulation, correct tail set and carriage. Moved really well, happy to award her reserve best bitch.

2nd: Hammystaff Love Yourself – Hammond, Mr J D & Mrs S M

Red and white bitch, taller than 1st but still balanced. Strong head with neat rose ears, distinct stop and pleasing expression. Good width to her front, well boned and well muscled, with good strength for her size. Good spring of rib. Level topline, good tail set and carriage, moved well.

3rd: Jazostaffs Cotswold Gem – Plumsted, Mr T & Mrs C

Class 16 – Novice Bitch (3/1)

1st: Idyllicstaff Nangi – Shipp, Mrs L M

See 1st Junior Bitch.

2nd: Tillcarr Fire Fever – Ghinn, Mr J

Black, petite bitch shown in good condition. Clean feminine head with dark eye and neat rose ears. Good width to front, neat feet, good rib and level topline. Moved well and showed herself nicely. First had a little more strength and bone today.

Class 17 – Graduate Bitch (4/1)

1st: Hammystaff Love Yourself – Hammond, Mr J D & Mrs S M

See 2nd Junior Bitch.

2nd: Trufflestaff Bambenie at Barbary – Burton, Mr M

Finer-built bitch than 1st, but still with good width and overall balance. Nice head with dark eye, neat ears and a pleasing expression. Well angulated front and rear, with level topline both standing and on the move. Correct tail set and carriage, moved well.

3rd: Vimaval I’m The Only One – Mitchell, Miss V

Class 18 – Post Graduate Bitch (6/0)

1st: Hamason Heart’s On Fire JW – Willetts & Billingham, Miss A G & Mr M

Red and white bitch with good bone and substance. Clean head with tight lips, good width, pronounced cheek muscles and neat rose ears. Good width to front, well sprung ribs. Well angulated front and rear, holding a level topline both standing and on the move. Correct tail set and carriage, moved very well.

2nd: Rougestaff Red Velvet JW – Jones, Messrs A & D, Mesdames G & K

Standard-sized red bitch with good strength for her size. Lovely head with a clean face and muzzle, tight lips and neat rose ears. Good width throughout, well sprung ribs and well angulated front and rear. Well-muscled rear, moved well.

3rd: Koko The Queen – Smith, Dr S

Class 19 – Limit Bitch (2/0)

1st: Cwmhaf Bring Me Sunshine – Harvey, Mr M J

Black bitch with good width and strength for her size. Well sprung ribs, wide chest and neat feet. Level topline, with a balanced outline and good substance throughout. Moved steadily and showed herself as a muscular, active bitch.

2nd: Vadeliza Box Of Trix – Bainborough, Mr S

Black bitch, slightly smaller but standard size and balanced throughout. Feminine and clean in head and outline, with pleasing expression. Well angulated front and rear, correct tail set and carriage, and held a level topline. Moved steadily and showed well.

Class 20 – Open Bitch (3/0)

1st: Ch Kamaristaffs Royal Gem at Jazostaff JW – Plumsted, Mr T & Mrs C

Black bitch with good strength and width throughout. Strong feminine head with short muzzle, neat rose ears and pleasing expression. Muscular neck, well sprung ribs and well-muscled body. Held a level topline and moved well. Pleased to award her Best Bitch and Reserve Best in Show.

2nd: Sikaistaff Dark Phoenix – Bainborough, Mr S

Black bitch with a feminine appearance and good overall balance. Clean, neat head with tight lips and pleasing expression. Sufficient width to front and enough rib, with a level topline. Correct tail set and carriage, moved steadily and showed herself well.

3rd: Boscador Flaming Warrior – Daly & Lees, Mrs K L & Mr P
