Judges critique of Lancaster & District Canine Society 9/08/2026.

Thank you for the invitation to judge the Hound group. I had plenty of quality dogs to judge and thoroughly enjoyed my day.

Afghan

J (1)

1 Reaney Istani Miss Jackson At Ancazraq’s 14mth bitch. Skull long and is well balanced. Carries her head on a long neck. Well angulated all through with a good width of second thigh. Good depth of chest and spring of ribs. Moderate body length with a firm topline. Prominent hip bones. Moved well. BOB

Beagle

1 Goldberg Mackhovie Astraea At Molesend 7mth bitch. A very promising youngster. Attractive feminine head with dark eyes having an appealing expression. Well shaped and balanced skull with ears of correct length. Clean neck leads to well laid shoulders and corresponding return of upper arm. Stands on straight well boned limbs and tight, firm feet. Level topline which she holds on the move. Muscular hind quarters, stifles well bent with a good width of second thigh. Moved out well and sound from any angle. BOB BP Puppy Group 1.

1 Jones Molesend Glamour At Stanseren 3yr old bitch. Though out of a slightly bigger mould this girl has a feminine head, lovely dark eyes and soft expression. Strong neck fits into well laid shoulders, Good angulation all through. Level topline with well set and carried tail. Moved well.

2 Goldberg Molesend Linnet 16 mth bitch. Feminine head with a soft expression and dark eyes. Well-balanced outline, good spring of rib and short coupled, with a deep chest. Good bone, firm, well-muscled quarters and a level topline. Moved freely.

1 Arden Madika Shine On JW 18mth bitch. Feminine head well set on strong neck. Spring of rib. Short deep loin. Well muscled rear quarters with a good width of second thigh. Stands on well boned legs and tight feet. Moved out well with a free stride.

Dachshund Min L/H

1 Kasprowicz Amberdach Inca Lily Daniello 10mth bitch. Pretty feminine head with lovely dark eyes. Well angulated all through with a firm topline held on the move. Deep chest, ribs are carried well back. Moved well. BP

2 Gunter Welingtonway Muffin Man 9mth dog. Good skull proportions with dark eye. Good angulation all through with depth of chest. Presented in good coat. Moved OK.

1Kasprowicz Daniello Diamond Dove 18mth dog. Well put together male. Masculine head fits neatly onto strong neck. Well angulated all through with well sprung ribs which reach well back. Moved OK.

1 Kasprowicz Daniello Dreamer Boy 18mth dog. Masculine with the required conical shape. Neck of good length fits into well laid shoulders. Good angulation all through. Stands on well boned legs and neat feet. Well muscled hind quarters. Strode out well in profile holding his level topline. BOB

1 Jones Jenivons The Last Waltz 10mth dog. Masculine head of good shape. Long muscular neck fits neatly into well angulated front assembly. Firm level topline. Well spung ribs reach well back to firm short loin. Good width of second thigh. Moved well. BP

2 Jennings Jenivons The Story Lives On 10mth dog. Lovely masculine head. Neck of good length. Balanced angulation all through. Firm topline. Well sprung ribs, short deep loin. Moved OK.

1 Jennings Jenivons Secret Wish 17mth bitch Nicely balanced with a good head and expression. Good clean neck into well set shoulders, forearm strong. Body moderately long and well-muscled with depth of loin. Hindquarters strong with second thigh of good width. Moved well.

1 Hardy Rossmia Kensington Beauty 4yr old bitch Very feminine. Quality head with eyes of correct colour and shape. Good length and arch of neck leads smoothly into well angulated front. Her ribs extend well back, topline level and carried well on the move, short, muscular loin. Moved well.

2 Clewes Frystondax Skye At Shardbeck 2yr old bitch. Good balanced shape on the stack. Feminine head with correct ears and eyes. Well sprung ribs. Moved OK

1 Jennings Jenivons Starfinch 2yr old dog. Good masculine head, well shaped with correct ear carriage and dark eyes. Balanced throughout. Good movement with reach and drive. Excellent forechest and ribbing. Firm topline. Stands on well boned legs and neat feet. BOB GP2

1 Woodhouse Kaleginy Massi Ferguson 12mth dog. Masculine head with dark eyes and gentle expression. Clean neck of good length. Well muscled all through with strong second thighs. Stands on straight limbs and compact feet. Decent coat with harsh texture. Moved Ok when settled.

PG (2,1)

1 Dholakia Stranwith Teasel 19mth bitch. She was unsettled today but has very nice proportions and an attractive feminine head. Well constructed. She moved nicely once settled .

O (4,3)

1 Barret Stranwith Ixxia almost 5yr old bitch. Feminine head, dark eye with a gentle expression. Strong neck that fits smoothly into well laid shoulders, good depth of chest. Forelegs straight with bladed bone and compact well knuckled feet. Well angulated rear. Coat is thick and harsh. Presented in super condition. Moved well BOB

Rhodesian Ridgeback

1 Pritchard Jones Affohoda Amaryllis 7mth bitch. Balanced head with well set ears and bright intelligent eyes. Clean neck fits into well laid shoulders. Stands on well boned limbs with compact feet. Body well developed for age. Moved well BP PG3.

1 Whiteside Jimanns Tavullia 3yr old bitch Kind expression on her well balanced head. Good reach of neck. Balanced angulation, tight elbows, correct pasterns and correct tail set. Shown in good fit condition. Moved out well with good reach and drive, just flows round the ring. BOB GP1.

1 Pritchard Jones Kalahari Sun Of Luanda At Affrhoda 4 yr old bitch. Lovely head & expression with a correct eye, well set and carried ears. Neck flows into good forequarters. Firm topline and well set and carried tail. Well muscled and well presented. Moved out with drive on well boned legs and compact feet.

2 Whiteside Jimanns Jackass 5yr old dog Lovely head and clean neck. Good depth of chest and tight in elbow. Moderate spring of rib which reach well back. Moved OK.

1 Jennings Jenivons Time To Shine Dach S/H. 7mth dog. Pleasing head and expression. Good length of neck. Well angulated front with good forechest. Well-knuckled feet. Firm topline and strong through the loin. Moved well. BP AVNSC PG4

2 Hall Kiwi Treasures Tennessee Whiskey For Hollybrook (imp USA) Ibizan. 9mth quality bitch was gave her handler a hard time. She shows a balanced outline. Pleasing head, long and fine. Her long neck carries a slight arch as it flows into a firm topline. She has strength in her hindquarters. Once settled she moved well.

Good overall body proportions and outline, prominent forechest, Slightly sprung ribs, short loin, correct feet, moved true totally belying her age BAVNSC GP3

2 Hall IR CH Ahrams Hold My Hand With Hollybrook (Imp USA)IR/INT JCH CJW25 Ibizan. 2yr old bitch. Attractive bitch of typical proportions. Feminine head with a prominent occiput and almond shaped eyes. Neck of good length. Straight limbs with erect pasterns and her feet have well arched toes. Her body has a long, flat ribcage which tucks up well to her short loin. Moved well.

4 Kemp Saraquele Smooth And Sassy Whippet 12mth bitch. Feminine with a super head and expression, strong neck into well laid shoulders and good return of upper arm. Curvy underline to well angulated and muscled hindquarters. Moved straight out and back and strode out well in profile.

2 Searle & Rawlinson Majestrian Lavender Haze For Whipsearle (Imp ITA) Whippet 16mth bitch. Well proportioned head, and dark oval eyes. Strong neck of good length to moderately angulated forehand with matching hindquarters. Strides out and back soundly.

1 Pritchard Jones Mission Wild Wind Of Luanda At Affrhoda (imp SVK) Rhodesian. 2yr old dog. Beautiful head with a kind intelligent expression. Firm in body. Good spring and length of ribbing. Correct front and rear angulation . Shown in tip top condition . Good tight feet. He holds his topline both on the stack and on the move . He covered the ground with ease.

2 Clark Atiqah Origen Charm Of Thiefside (impSVK) Sloughi 2yr old bitch. Feminine bitch, expressive eyes with the blackest of pigmentation. Lovely head carriage. Her neck was strong. Her ribs had sufficient spring to them. Her gait was free.

3 Majestrian Lavender Haze For Whipsearle (Imp ITA).

2 Jennings Melriding True Colours At Jenivon. DachS/H 18mth bitch. Overall a good shape. Super head and expression. Lovely body condition and skin. Moved out and back well, keeping a lovely topline.
