Terrier Club Of South Wales

Terrier Club of South Wales 8th February 2026

Many thanks to the committee for their invitation to judge this friendly well run Terrier show, I thoroughly enjoyed my judging.

Bull Terrier

PG (3,1abs)

1. Pope’s Razoredge Berry Lane at Tegenbull. D BOB and pleased to see him short listed in the group. Quality white lad white with brindle eye and ear patches. Solidly built with good bone and substance and shown in super coat and condition. Masculine head with gentle turn, dark triangular eyes with a keen expression and neat well set ears. Good front assembly, strong legs and tight feet. Carries a good top line and tail carriage and moved around the ring with a pleasing active and jaunty gait looking particularly good in profile.

2. Mills’ Rightstuff Black Knight. D. RBOB. Another quality lad, black brindle and white and it was a very close decision, just felt that today that whilst sound, he wasn’t quite as fluid in profile on the move as the winner today, but that could change on another day. Strong masculine head of good proportions, gentle turn, relatively small dark eyes and neat ears all giving a keen expression. Good front with straight front legs, well sprung ribs and muscular body, well developed rear ending with a well set on and carried tail. An attentive showman.

Bull Terrier (Miniature)

1. Pullen’s Fergustaff Fallen Angel to Razorsedge b. Just  7 months, this young lady was very confident and already a willing show girl. Strong feminine and well turned head, dark eyes with a wicked expression and well placed ears all giving her a pleasing profile. Nicely arching neck into good shoulder, straight front and tidy feet. Good spring of rib, short back with a level top line.  She moved well both ways with power and drive.  In the challenge for best puppy, I just preferred the tail carriage of her brother who won the PG class.

2. Marshallsay’s Fergustaff Mariposa. D. Litter brother to the winner, a little longer in body than her and not quite as outgoing as her as yet. Once he settled into his stride on the move he had a pleasing gait with good power and drive holding his tail carriage well. Masculine head with gentle curve and small dark eyes. Good reach of neck onto well placed shoulders, straight front with neat feet. Nice spring of rib and level top line.

1. Marshallsay’s Fergustaff Kraken. D. BP and delighted to see him take puppy group 3. Third of the three littermates, an eye catching white lad with brindle eye patches who gave a lively and confidence performance. Liked his size and shape, and shown in super body condition. Strong and gently turned and filled head, small wicked dark eyes and well placed ears, which he used well. Lovely arching neck into good shoulders, straight front and tidy feet. Good spring of rib, short backed with a level top line finishing in a well set on and carried tail.  Moved well both ways with power and drive.

O ( 5,1abs)

1. Marshallsay’s Ch Risibully have You Seen Her with Fergustaff JW ShCEx OSW. b. BOB and short listed in the group. A classy young lady who I have admired from the ringside, so it was a real thrill to have the opportunity to go over her first hand. A consummate showgirl, she immediately appeals for her size and profile, and is put down in A1 condition. Beautifully turned feminine head, small eye and well placed ears which she used all the time. Nicely arching neck, good shoulders, straight front and nice tight feet.  Short backed with a level top line, held on the move. She’s so well schooled and on the go around, she moved well with power and drive.

2. Thompson’s Oakfayre’s Whiplash Weasel JW . B. RBOB. White girl who is a similar size and shape to the winner, and she too is full of quality with a delightfully lively and outgoing temperament. It was a tough decision between these two lovely girls, I think her enthusiasm on the move just cost her today. Gorgeous head, very feminine and is nicely turned and filled with dark wicked eyes and well set on ears. Good reach of neck which fits nicely into well placed shoulders, straight front with neat feet. Nice spring of rib and level top line. When she concentrates and settles to the task in hand, she can move out soundly with power and drive.

3. Marshallsay’s Aalvusline Winterfell with Fergustsff .d

Sealyham Terrier

P (1)

1. Salmon & Salmon’s Seasmolt Raspberry Ruffle. b. BP. A 10 months old young lady, I liked her overall outline and balance being the desired oblong shape. Feminine and balanced head, with a dark eye and well carried ears. Good length of neck, enough depth and substance through the body and a nice spring of rib. Well developed hindquarters and low set hocks. She was a little unsettled on the move today, but I saw glimpses of a sound brisk gait.

PG (4,1abs)

1. Ashley-Smith’s Marcello Dei Figli Di Paparott (Imp ITA) D. I liked the general proportions and outline of this lad. Strong masculine head, with width to the back skull and strength to the muzzle. He has a kind but keen dark eye. Well developed through the body with well sprung ribs and strong hindquarters. On the go around, he was true fore and aft, with plenty of drive, holding a good tail carriage and outline

2. Salmon& Salmon’s Obi Wan Kenobi of Kindergrten at Seasmolt (Imp HUN). D. Masculine head, having good width between his well carried ears and a dark inquisitive eye. Strong clean neck, deep in brisket and nicely developed in fore chest. Holding a decent top line both stood and on the move. Brisk and active on the move, just carrying his tail a little high over his back today.

3. Ashley-Smith’s Happy Sealyham Fedez (Imp ITA). D.

O (4,2abs)

1. Ashley-Sith’s Zippor Skye Fawkes. D. BOB. An appealing lad who scored for overall type, he carries good bone and presented a nicely balanced outline. Muscular neck of good length, firm level back, good length to ribcage, muscular loin and excellent tail for set and carriage. Quality headpiece with breadth to skull, expressive eyes of good colour, well placed ears, powerful muzzle and scissor bite. Pleasing angles both ends and stands on good feet. Gaiting freely on the go around with drive. Good quality jacket

2. Ashley-Smith’s Indiana Jones Dei Figli Di Paparott (Imp ITA) . D RBOB. Another appealing lad, who has lots to like and was pleasing to go over. He has a good length of neck, is firm through the top line, his ribbing extends well back, muscular loin and tail set on well. Masculine head and expression with good breadth to skull, nice dark eyes, ears of correct size and set, powerful muzzle and good pigmentation. Pleasing angulation front and rear and he moves out pretty well on the go around. Good texture to his jacket.

1. O’Connell’s Letoha’s Unforgettable Anna. b. BOB and delighted to see her placed Group 4. What a lovely girl nearly 2 years old with a feminine well proportioned head, small dark oval eyes giving a keen expression, and neat well set ears. Clean neck which fits nicely into well laid shoulders, good spring of rib and short back. She has a strong loin and well-muscled rear with good tail set. Beautifully presented harsh jacket and she was shown in fit hard condition. She moved with good reach and holds her top line. Very showy and well schooled girl.

Pretty head which is still developing with , small neat ears, the darkest of eyes and nose pigment. Sufficient length of neck, with well laid shoulders. Short back with good rear angulations and well set tail set. Her jacket was nicely presented and quite harsh.
