JUNIOR HANDLING ASSOCIATION : 6 – 11 YEARS (4,1)

1 . Handler 992, a very calmly confident and polished performance. Demonstrated good rapport with his dog, and had effective control of his dog at all times. Moved the dog at the correct pace. Completed the routine without a step out of place, and maintained visual contact with the dog and me the whole time he was in the ring. 

2 . Handler 279, demonstrated good rapport with her dog, It was pleasing to see her dog respond to her handling and maintain a good performance during the whole routine. Completed the routine very well, but I would have liked to see a free stack when the dog was brought back to me after moving out and back.

JUNIOR HANDLING ASSOCIATION : 12 – 16 YEARS (4,1)

1 . Handler 713. A polished performance. She didn’t put a step out of place during her routine. Demonstrated good rapport with her dog, moved at the correct pace, excellent turns. 

2 . Handler 451. A very good performance. I was impressed to see her keep working hard the whole time, to gain control and maintain her skatty dog’s attention. Unfortunately she missed the turn on the out and back, but a polished performance as I walked around the dog.

1. Handler 443. A calm, confident and polished performance, not a step out of place. Demonstrated good rapport with his dog, keeping the dog calm and attentive the whole time. Moved his large breed dog at the correct pace.

2. Handler 917. A very good performance. Demonstrated good rapport with her dog. Unfortunately missed the turn on the out and back, but a polished performance as I walked around her dog.

1. Handler 314 first and 373 second. Both very confident and clearly experienced handlers, with a lovely manner in the ring, who got the best out of their dogs. Didn’t put a step wrong while in the ring. Demonstrated good rapport with their dogs. Nothing between them today.

1 . Handler 450. An excellent performance from a clearly well experienced handler. Not a step out of place. Demonstrated good rapport with her dog. I was impressed to see the handler maintain the correct pace for her dog to demonstrate the breed specific movement (for a Border Collie) right to the end, taking the dog back into the line, not just during the initial run into the ring.

1.Lindsay’s Watermyth Gota Lota Glamour In Mezanda. Exhibit No. 819, an 11 month old bitch. A good sized bitch, feminine foxy head. Small velvety ivy leaf-shaped ears, well set. Dark mask. Correct spectacle marks. I would like her body proportions to be a little more compact. Dense double coat, with pale soft undercoat and developing harsher topcoat. Good bone and substance for her age. Grey black tipped body coat, harness markings. High set tightly curled tail over the back. Moderate angles front and back. She moves briskly with moderate reach and drive. RUBOB. BP

1. Lindsay’s Ch Mezanda Mystic Starman. Exhibit No. 818, a 4 and a half year old male. Correct sized dog, compact and strongly built. A strong foxy masculine head with strong jaws and sufficient black mask, correct ivy leaf-shaped small ears , spectacle marks around the eyes. I would prefer a slightly darker eye. Moderate angles front and back. Good substance and bone. High set tail, tightly curled on his back. Harsh topcoat and pale soft dense undercoat. Moves briskly with moderate reach and drive. BOB

1. Poole & Thomas’ Jonsville Cinnabar. Exhibit No. 719, a lovely seven month old bitch. She has a lovely head, correct envelope shape (wider than deep), black mask with large lustrous dark round eye giving soft expression. Correct flat skull, lovely ears of good size framing the head. Broken overnose wrinkle not in any way impacting on eyes or nose. Well open nostrils. Short strong neck, correct very compact body, wider in front compared to the rear. Broad deep chest slung between short stout legs with flattish feet. Level topline, high set well carried tail over the back. Dense coat texture still developing. Moves with dignified slight rolling gait. BP. RUBOB. 

2. Poole’s Jonsville Codename Tommy. Exhibit No. 717, an 11 month old male. Not the head of the class winner: slightly squarer rather than envelope shaped, and he has a heavy overnose wrinkle which is impacting the lower eyelids, and probably impacting on the nose as he is panting noticeably whereas the class winner is not. He has well opened nostrils. Strongly built , correct body proportions and strongly developed chest and front, similar to class winner. Tail still a work in progress. Moves with slow rolling dignified gait.

1.Poole’s Kocho Dolly Daydream. Exhibit No. 718, nearly 3 year old bitch. Lovely feminine head, correct envelope shape, flat skull, lovely ears framing her head. Large lustrous dark round eyes, giving soft expression. Slight overnose wrinkle which is not impacting in any way on her eyes or nose. Sufficiently open nostrils. Well developed and proportioned body, strong chest, slung between slightly bowed stout legs, slightly narrower in the rear. Flattish feet. Dense double coat, with harsh straight outer coat and dense soft undercoat, not obscuring her shapely body. High set tail over the back. Moves with dignified slightly rolling gait. BOB

1. Sadler’s Final Quattro. Exhibit No. 341, an 8 and a half year old male. A good sized dog. Masculine head, long narrow wedge head, dark oval eye giving soft expression. Correct well set thin rose ears. He has a rostral crossbite. Strong neck flowing into strong withers. Well laid shoulder and good length of upper arm. Sufficient fill in front. Long legs but I would prefer stronger bone. Correct body proportions. Slight arch over the loin, but he stands higher in the rear relative to the height at the withers, due to only being slightly angulated in the rear, and consequently does not stand over much ground. Long tail to beyond the hock. BOB

1. Pearn’s Bonmac Little Star JW. Exhibit No. 891, a two year old brindle bitch. Lovely feminine head, correct proportions, broad deep boxy skull, deep stop, broad deep wide muzzle, well marked chin. Wide undershot bite, with upper lips supported well on lower, giving nice finish to the muzzle. Slightly higher set nose on nasal bridge. Dark eyes, strong black mask on muzzle and up towards the eyes, softened by white muzzle band. I would prefer her body proportions to be more compact to give the required square built. Good lay shoulder and return of upper arm, giving good forechest. Well developed chest, I would prefer a slightly deeper flatter underline before rising gently towards the loin. Slightly sloping topline with tail coming cleanly off the slightly sloping croup. Stands with straight legs and tight feet, good bone, good angles in the rear, balancing the front. Good substance with lithe muscling. Good brindling and attractive white markings. elastic gait with long strides and good reach and drive. BOB

2. Brian’s Rocvilla Theory of Love At Sebriville. Exhibit No. 890, a nearly 5 year old red fawn bitch. A very large, and overly heavily built girl, too much of her, not typical of the breed. Large wet head, somewhat bulgy dark eyes, narrower muzzle bridge. Strong neck flowing into sloping topline. Squarely built. Good angles in front overangulated in the rear. Body is too deep for length of leg. does not move as freely as the class winner. RUBOB

1 . Webb’s Shalissa’s Vera Wang. Exhibit No. 905, a 9 month old black and tan bitch. Feminine head, clean elongated wedge, full dentition. Dark eye. Sufficiently long neck, flowing smoothly into a strong withers and slightly sloping topline. I would like her to be a little more compact in body. Excellent lay of shoulder, and return of upper arm giving good forechest, balanced with good angles in the rear. Stands with straight well boned legs down to her tight feet . Good chest development and spring of rib for her age. She moves very freely with good reach and drive. BOB. BP

2. Webb’s Shalissas perfect touch. Exhibit No. 907, a 10 month old black and tan boy. A large very immature dog who has all the basics in place but needs a lot of maturing. I feel in 2 years’ time he may well be the better specimen, but today I preferred the maturity and prettiness of his half sister. Elongated head, a little skully for my liking. Dark eye, full dentition, well set large ears. Long elegant neck, flowing into strong withers and slightly sloping topline. Correct square body. Well laid shoulder, sufficient return of upper arm. I would like more forechest. Good angles in the rear. Good tuck up. Stands with straight legs, sufficient bone, pasterns sloping a little and feet need to be tighter. Moves very freely with good reach and drive.

1. Groves & Hyett’s Lateagain Wish Upon A Star JW. Exhibit No. 902, a nearly three year old black and tan bitch. A good sized bitch, with a lot to like about her, but she is too long in body. Feminine elongated wedge head, dark eye, full dentition. Long elegantly arched neck, flowing into strong withers and slightly sloping but long back. Well laid shoulder, I would like better return of upper arm. Strong hindquarters with good angles. Stands with straight legs, sufficient bone, feet need to be tighter. Sufficiently well defined tan markings. Moves with reach and drive.

2. Webb’s Shalissa’s Chanel. Exhibit No. 906, a 10 month old black and tan bitch. She has a beautiful body, but her head lets her down. Her head needs to be longer and wedge-shaped, she is skully, too much stop, and needs more length of muzzle and underjaw to balance the length of head. She is lippy. Well set large ears, eye rims a little loose. Neck is well arched but too short, and too thick for its length. Lovely body with every part flowing smoothly: square build, very good and balanced angles front and back, good chest development, slightly sloping topline, good forechest, nice tuck up. Good bone, I would like her front legs to be longer to balance her good depth of chest. Moves with good reach and drive.

1. Webb’s Shalissa’s Into The Shallow JW BEL JCH. Exhibit No. 904, a 22 month old bitch. Feminine strong head, elongated wedge, dark eyes, full dentition, well set ears framing the head. Strong arched and elegant neck, flowing into strong withers. Good lay of shoulder, sufficient return of upper arm, good forechest. Stands with fairly straight legs, strong bone, feet turning out a little. I would like her to be a little more compact in body. Slightly sloping topline. Well developed hindquarters and angles in the rear. Good tuck up. Well defined moderately rich tan markings. Moves very freely with good reach and drive. RUBOB

2. Webb & Mullins Multi CH Protocol’s The Midas Touch (Imp USA) JW. Exhibit No. 908 a 3 and a half year old black and tan boy. A large strongly built dog. Head for me is a little heavy, and lippy. Dark eye, well set ears, full dentition. Slightly arched long neck, flowing into a very slightly sloping topline. Moderate lay of shoulder, with balanced return of upper arm. He has some forechest, I would like more. Moderately angulated hindquarters, second thigh needs to be more strongly developed to balance the upper thigh. Very deep chested, with moderate tuck up. Stands with straight well boned legs, I would like his legs to be a little longer to balance his deep chest. Well defined moderately rich tan markings. Moves with good reach but excessive kick up in the rear.

1 . Lewczuk’s Dexterity Enthusiastic Crush for Danixaris. Exhibit No. 916, a one year old red boy. Strong and deep masculine wedge head, of correct proportions, dark oval eyes, well set and carried ears. Sufficient length of neck. I would like slightly more angles in the front to give him more forechest, sufficient angles in the rear. Squarely built, well developed deep chest with good ribbing. Good substance. Good bone. Topline is level to very slightly roached, rather than slightly sloping. He moves with reach and drive. BP. BOB

2. Lowe’s Danixaris Daydreamer. Exhibit No. 919, a 22 month old Black and Tan bitch. Deep and strong head of correct proportions, slightly roman nosed, larger and more round dark eyes spoils the expression. High set ears. Lovely elegant strong arched neck. She is squarely built, well laid shoulder and needs a better return of upper arm, to give her more forechest. very open angles in the rear. Topline is almost level rather than slightly sloping. Deep well developed chest. Sufficient bone. Tan markings are moderately rich tan, well defined. Moves with some reach and drive, topline is a little roached on the move.

1. Harvey - Miller’s Kariwight’s Little Aurora. Exhibit No. 913, a one year old red medium sized bitch. Feminine head, wedge of correct proportions. I would like a slightly deeper skull with a little more stop. Well set and carried ears. Oval sufficiently dark eyes. Elegant long neck flowing into strong withers and a reasonable topline. Well laid shoulder and I would like a better return of upper arm to give more forechest. Chest needs to be let down a little more. She has moderate angles in the rear, I would like slightly more angles in the rear, which would settle her topline. Good underline. Moves with reach and drive and clean out and back.

2. Fettes’ Danixaris Equinox. Exhibit No. 909, a 3 year old black and tan boy. Strong masculine head, correct proportions, deep muzzle, I would like a little more stop. Sufficiently dark oval eyes, well set and carried ears. Strong neck flowing into good withers. Good lay shoulder, I would prefer a better return of upper arm to give more forechest. I would prefer a slightly more compact build, strongly developed chest, topline roaches a little over the loin. Good underline. Sufficient bone. First thigh sufficiently developed, but the lower thigh is weak, and he needs a better angled stifle and hock joint. Tan markings are well defined and moderately rich. Moves with some reach and drive, with a slightly roached topline on the move.

Lovely dark oval eyes, well set ears but I would like them better held close to the skull. Strong neck. I would like a better lay of shoulder and return of upper arm, he needs forechest. Sufficient bone, I would like his body a little more compact. Good angles in the rear. Topline roaches a little over the loin. Moves cleanly with good reach and drive. RUBOB

2. Mordacz & Lewczuk’s Calvaxar Bad Boy Lincoln At Danixaris. Exhibit No. 918, nearly 11 year old red boy. Strong head, of correct proportions. I would like the eyes to be more oval rather than round. Good lay of shoulder, I would like a slightly better return of upper arm to give more forechest. Excellent hindquarters. I would like him a little more compact in body. He is a taller boy. For his size I would like better chest development , better let down of chest, a little more substance and bone. Reasonable topline, good underline. Pasterns a little weak and he needs tighter feet. In excellent condition for his age A credit to his humans.

1 . Hart & Harris’ Ankors Athabasca At Violaceae. Exhibit No. 933, a lovely 10 month old black and white wavy-coated bitch. Lovely feminine but strong head, good length and strength in muzzle. Nice neck. Flat withers. Just off square build. Good angles in front with well developed forechest. Well developed chest, and good spring rib. Stands with straight legs, good bone down to firm pasterns. Good webbing. Strong hindquarters with good angles, lovely strong buttocks. A very well balanced girl. Correct moderate textured wavy coat. Moves with ease and good reach and drive holding her tail high in a ring on the move. BP RUBOB

2. Smith’s Oldeely Swiss Etziken Rubin Jew. Exhibit No. 940, a large 15 month old black wavy-coated boy. Strong muzzle, I would like a better stop and more rise in skull to give better definition between skull and muzzle. A good neck into flat withers. Moderate angles in front with a little forechest, I would like more. Square body proportions due to less forechest and not as developed buttocks as the class winner. Stands with straight legs, sufficient bone. Good webbing. good angles in the rear, not as strongly developed first thigh and buttocks as class winner. Correct tuck up. Correct moderate textured coat. Moves freely with reach and drive, holding the tail up on the move.

Moves freely with good reach and drive, tail held up on the move.

Strong head, correct proportions, well set and carried ears. Dark eyes. Tight just scissor bite, full dentition. Strong neck flowing into strong withers and level topline, giving a good silhouette in profile. Well laid shoulder, I would like a little better return of upper arm, to give more forechest. Stands with straight legs, well boned. Pasterns a little soft at this stage, and feet need to be tighter. Pencilling on the toes. Sufficiently developed chest for his age. Strong angles in the rear. Good deep flat underline. I would prefer better definition to his tan markings and a richer colour. Moves with reach and drive. BP. BOB

2. Monk & Jones’ Olearia Westfalen One Love. Exhibit No. 948, a nearly one year old boy. A good sized dog, not as balanced as the class winner. Good head correct proportions, dark eye, scissor bite and full dentition. Strong neck, a little flat and wrinkled in withers. Needs a better lay of shoulder and has a short upper arm. Lacks forechest. Good bone. Stands with feet pointing out a little, and pasterns are a little soft. Body proportions are a little long, more because he is a little short in leg for his depth of body and the forequarters are set too far forward. Very good angles in the rear. Croup is a little long. Underline rises too much to the loin. Tan markings are well defined, and good rich tan colour. Pencilling on the toes. Good level back. Moves clean coming with legs straight and correct distance apart, but going away the hocks come too close together and stifles point out. RUBOB

1. Cunningham’s Yulyeong On To A Winner. Exhibit No. 880, a 16 month old white Korean Jindo dog. A good sized boy, correct triangular head, lovely pricked ears set correctly, slightly hooded . Dark almond eyes set slightly obliquely with dark rims, scissor bite with pigmented lips. Good length of neck flowing into strong withers. Just off square build, good lay shoulder, I’d like a slghtly better return of upper arm. Good angles in the rear. Good depth chest to length leg. Sufficient bone. Topline needs to settle down a little. High set tail rising vertically from the root and curved over the back. Coat is harsh and dense, straight and standing off the body. Some undercoat. Some gold tinges on the ears and tail. Moves freely with moderate reach and drive. BOB

1. Gutteridge’s Benitin Trojan Of Geduld. Exhibit No. 826, a nearly 7 and a half year old Kooikerhondje dog in excellent condition. Active and alert. A lovely strong masculine head, dark almond eyes, correct head proportions, strong but not snipey muzzle. Correctly set and carried ears framing the head well, with the prized ear rings. A lovely dog in profile, correct body proportions, good length neck flowing into strong withers and a firm level topline, with the tail coming nicely off the back. Well constructed and put together dog. Good angles front and back, has forechest. Stands four square. Good chest development. Clear orange red and white coat, orange red predominating on body. Moves with very good reach and drive. BV (7-9). BV.

2.Slack’s Ch Decimus One Of Us. Exhibit No. 804, a nearly 8 year old sable German Spitz Klein bitch. Correct wedge head, good length of muzzle. Expressive dark oval eyes with black rims. High set erect ears. Scissors bite. Sufficiently compact body , good bone. Level topline, good angles front and back. Good chest development. Correct harsh longer straight outer coat, dense undercoat. Well set and carried tail. Moves freely and cleanly.

SPECIAL VETERAN (10 YEARS AND OVER) (3,1)

1. Bawden & Brown’s Ch Khanate Gin Fizz. Exhibit No. 857, a salt and pepper, nearly 14 and a half year old Schnauzer boy. Strong masculine head, correct proportions, slight stop strong muzzle with strong broad nose, scissor bite with large teeth. Dark oval eyes. Well set and carried ears folding forward close to the skull. Good head furnishings. Strong neck flows cleanly into slightly sloping topline. I would like a better lay of shoulder and return of upper arm to give the required forechest, and to bring his legs well under his body. He is squarely built. Good angles in the rear. Well developed deep chest, well sprung ribs, good depth of flanks. Good substance. Correct harsh coat. Moves with good reach and drive, with tail carried jauntily on the move. This dog is in excellent condition, sound, and healthy and an absolute credit to his humans. BV (10 +).

2. Brook’s Papikoi Time Out. Exhibit No. 821, a nearly 10 and a half year old Kooikerhondje dog. Strong masculine head, correct proportions. Lovely ears framing the skull. Has the prized ear rings. Dark almond eye. He is too long in body, and his topline dips, and rises over the loin. Moderate angles in front and good angles in the rear. Correct coat, predominance of orange red on body. Moves fairly well.
