Lancashire Heeler Club

Lancashire Heeler Club – Special Award classes – 2nd May 2026.

Special Award Special Yearling dog or bitch (5, 1 abs)

1 Jones’ Mea Miracles Beorn Ragnar of Barleydust (imp FIN).

Fit and well muscled 16 month old black and tan male with attractive markings. Best mover in this class, free and level in profile, firm and strong away and back, plenty of width between hocks. Well shaped masculine head, flat skull between well set ears, alert expression, gradually tapering muzzle. Good length of neck, deep body, tail well set on and carried in a slight curve over back, wide muscular thighs, nice bend of stifle. Well handled, together they make a good team.

2 Kenyon’s Droversrock Obsidian. Very promising liver and tan coated female. Needed time to settle, but strode out for long enough for me to see her sound paces. 11 months old, has plenty of time to learn her job in the ring. Feminine head, flat skull tapering to equal length of muzzle, kind expression, eye colour blends well with coat colour. Nice flow from neck to shoulders, well ribbed back, short loin, strong back end, very well handled.

3 Hughes’ Ribblespride Kruger JW.

Special Award Post Graduate dog or bitch (3, 2 abs)

1 Hughes’ R Kruger JW.

Was 3rd in the last class, but was much more settled here. Level mover with accurate footfall, brisk and easy stride. Deep body, strong well sprung ribs, short couplings, very nice bend of stifle. A bit proud of his tail today, he held it curled over his back. Sympathetic handler.

Special Award Open dog or bitch (5, 1 abs)

1 McBride’s Utthanshavan Wolf Moon Man. Best Special Awards overall winner.

Brisk stylish movement won him this class, pleasing natural carriage, appealing body properties. Liked his head, skull and muzzle of equal length and parallel in profile, ears up, kind eye. Good length of neck, sloping shoulders, ideal width of chest, elbows neatly tucked in, level back, rib cage of good length and with nice spring, strong loin, powerful back end, well turned stifles. He didn’t always stand still, but could not be denied his 1st place. In the challenge for Best Special Award, preferred his body properties.

2 Thwaite’s Ch Ribblespride Crakemoor.

Well boned and well coated black and tan male, attractive black thumbprint marks on front pasterns. Strong and sturdy all through, moved out well with free stride. Appealing head, tapering gently from flat skull to end of nose, ears held erect, well shaped dark eye with kind expression. Alert and attentive to expert handler. Deep brisket, well ribbed back, deep back ribs, short firm loin, tail well set on, well bent stifles.

3 Thwaite’s Ribblespride Ladytron.
